Have read and re-read Rush to Judgment by Mark Lane and also have the book on DVD.
A great shame Mark Lane died in 2016.
With the passing of time I have hoped that eventually more truth might emerge. Quite apart from the avalanche of Gov files released it is possible private papers could come to light as people involved inevitably pass away. Questions that intrigue me include.
A year before the assassination in Oct 1962 and four months after leaving the USSR Oswald was hired by Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall Co a company with Gov contracts making maps from aerial photos including photos from U2 spy planes.
Surely CIA or similar clearance would be needed to get that job which Oswald had till April.
So he and Marina enjoyed near half a year with a regular wage and although their relationship was the scene of frequent tiffs, disagreements, flareups & separations – they were not the first young couple to live like that.
Another point about their personal life is that they seemed dominated by older people such as De Mohrenschildt and the Paines (both who might have been CIA handlers).
So LHO turned 23 while at Jaggars; in Australia a young married bloke would typically be part of a circle of “mates or cobbers” as well as other similar young couples who would share the issues of growing up and help one another solve problems of their exciting new lifes adventures. Is there any sign of contemporaneous young male friends of LHO? One particular factor intriques me and that is LHO never had a car – yet the US was the most automobile rich society on the planet. The Oswalds put up with public transport or begging rides when for a few hundred bucks they could have had a car with all the convenience and enjoyment it brings. I wonder if LHO had some physical issue that impaired him learning to drive.
Shortly after buying the rifle and revolver he fires a shot near General Walker . By all later accounts the rifle and tele sight could not have been in efficient condition. If LHO seriously wanted to shoot somebody why buy such a poor weapon with a paper trail when many Texas gun shops could have sold him a basic well sighted US made rifle with few questions asked?
In his JFK Declassified Tracking Oswald DVD’s Bob Baer concludes that LHO had contacts with the anti-Castro group Alpha66. If they saw LHO as a viable threat to attempt the assassination of JFK you might think they would have told him. “Your rifle is a useless old antique – get rid of that and we will help you obtain a better weapon.”
It is interesting too that when Mark Lane interviews Mrs Markham on the phone she says Tippit’s killer was short and on the heavy side with bushy hair.(page 181 in my 1992 Ed of Rush to Judgment).
This agrees with the description of the Tippit shooter by Mrs Clemons who told Mark Lane he was “kinda short & kinda heavy”(p193-194) – and she also said a tall slim man was nearby and that they knew one another and went separate ways after Tippit was shot. So who were these two contrasting men – who vanished into thin air?? Could the short heavy guy be a Cuban?
Why did Oswald go into the movie theatre? An obvious answer is that it was a pre-arranged meeting place? But the patsy was hung out to dry.
If LHO had a savvy lawyer over those 40 odd hours after JFK’s death, it is possible he could have been bailed through the weekend – Dallas police processes, lineups, tests on the rifle, tests on LHO, etc were so deficient. A good lawyer might have prevented much of the railroading of LHO by Dallas and Fed cops, not to mention execution.
I’ve not followed the JFK assassination detail for many decades. I agree with Warwick here that relevant facts (most of them) have been deliberately denied to accessible public records.
Current events, while not of the status of assassinating a sitting President, have a similar tone to them, though.
I refer to the sabotage of the Nord Stream 2 pipelines. This was a deliberate act to remove the tempting option for Germany to backtrack and buy Russian gas this coming winter to try and avoid chaotic rationing for home heating. As such, only the US (the CIA with access to the US military) had both means and motive. The German government most likely was complicit in this – the mines were laid quite a while ago, awaiting a timing decision.
Coverup is rampant. On Aus TV, the talking heads never once noted that Putin didn’t need the expense of sabotage as he can just turn off the taps in his gasfields. (The excuse that he wanted to be sneaky and avoid accountability is far better fitted to the Biden administration). So we are lied to and lied to (our “experts” crabwalk and think we don’t notice). We know they are lying, they know we know … and they do not care. Now the German people, most of the EU, the UK and the Baltics face deaths through hypothermia this winter.
