Thanks for headsup from David. Perth Metro recorded a minimum temperature of 6.6C today.
The previous record of 7.9 from 2007 well & truly smashed and of course headlines all over. Also beats the old Regional Office record which was 8.6 from 1979. And that is in the middle of the huge Perth urban heat island – which must prove something about climate change.
Exactly what you would expect with all this anthropogenic global warming. It always causes climate changes including cold in places.
ABC mentioned on the weather segment that Bourke had its highest temp for Dec (yesterday, Dec 1) at 47.6C. Completely ignored 5th Dec, 1981 at 47.9C.

BTW, the highest was 48.9C in Dec, 1904.
