Just saw this on ABC TVNews24 discussing carbon farming and they mentioned Longreach which has had ~twice average March rain which the TV program never mentioned. This www article mentions Thargominda – Indigenous group looks to carbon farming to regenerate the outback 1Apr19 also not a word about big Feb- Mar rain over ~90% of the State. Easy to click “earlier” and go back to Feb.
Irrelevant ‘facts’ which need to be ignored. It would not serve the ABC’s Greenist agenda to mention rain in this drought !
BOM autumn forecast :
“The autumn (March to May) climate outlook, issued 28 February 2019, indicates a drier than average season is likely for the eastern States”
I wrote, when they issued that, that we keep our umbrellas handy.
I live in Sydney and already in the March rainfall has been twice the average,

And if the ABC does mention the rain more often than not it’s to bemoan damage caused rather than any benefits it brings. Like this item from last sundays Landline concerning cyclone Veronica, starts at 3:47.

Warwick, the last link “Mar rain” comes up with a Qld map showing rain areas for 1-3rd Apr. However, BOM have it wrong in our areas of SE Qld the map shows zero rain whereas we have had 18.1 mm made up of 0 on 1st 0.3 on 2nd and 17.8mm on 3rd. This morning there was 7.8mm in the gauge and there has been a downpour this morning which will be in tomorrow’s reading. I do not think BOM can forecast with 50% accuracy which they could do just by saying the next day will be the same as the previous day.
Sorry, should have added we had 317.4mm in March which exceeded the 126 year average for the month of 265.1mm. BOM and Qld politicians still do not recognise that Jan, Feb and Mar are the wettest months. Also note that monthly rainfall has a Poisson distribution with the standard deviation around the average. Of course one can not have less than zero rain. Maximum rain for any month is around 5 to 7 std Dev. The maximum in Feb occurred in 1893 at 1891mm.
