Vic – a 35% surplus.
1) surplus just grounded to earth ? In that case, who’s funding this ?
2) inaccurate measurements or reporting – the most likely, I think
3) deliberate mis-reporting ? Seems unlikely, but then I never expected to see deliberate destruction of our civilised power grids either
Other possibilities ??
At about 3.40pm still the huge gap between Victorian generation and demand.
Gen = 5921 MW
Demand = 3671 MW
Surplus = 2250 MW
Queensland has a much higher price today than the other States.
Wind in SA, Vic, NSW, is fading too.
As at 5.45 still the huge gap between Victorian generation and demand.
Gen = 6341 MW
Demand = 4005 MW
Surplus = 2336 MW
Queensland still has a much higher price than the other States.
The situation in SA has reversed from 12.30pm
SA Gen = 815 MW
SA Demand = 1022 MW
So SA is now importing 207MW no doubt from Vic.
Both NSW and Qld Gen & Demand are more balanced so NSW could be importing some Vic power to keep a bit of reserve – and maybe that in effect flows through to Qld to keep up a reserve there.
Early this morn the whole system looks more in balance compared to yesterday midday.
Here are three more snapshots – Victoria often supporting other States.
We trust the closure of Hazelwood will not impair this ability.
Vic seems to have too much surplus
Vic surplus still looks more than ample.
Vic surplus closer to needs this am – first time I have noticed NSW so far in deficit.
