I kid you not – from the Australian Antarctic Division media page – COMNAP Executive Secretary Michelle Rogan-Finnemore said “…thicker and more extensive sea ice coverage, are impacting the delivery of Antarctic scientists, support personnel and supplies to Antarctic research facilities…”
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Tasmania sea levels are rising due to melting ice, apparently!

[Oh, and they have to adjust past levels downwards, of course, which exacerbates the increase.]
The ABC has this story –

Anthony Watts is on to it too –

Sea ice continues to set records with the bulk of the increase south and south east of Australia where the Australian bases are.
Looks like even bigger problems next summer.
I meant southwest of Australia.
Record equaling May cold in Broome this morning, over 10C below average, must be all that hot air of Sherwood’s escaping to the hot spot, or Antarctic ice. pindanpost.com/2015/05/16/blooming-cold-records-fastest-ever/
