South Australianisation of NSW electricity

Today there was much political beat-up on TV news over a small 190MW QNI upgrade (an interconnector to Qld) costing ~$102Mill. Prime Minister Scott Morrison and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian with other Ministers in attendance talked about “…putting downward pressure on wholesale prices..”. The purest fantasies you will hear. AEMO has a Generation Information page where you can download Excel files setting out State by State installed capacity also showing new projects for a few years ahead. OpenNem has useful generation presentations.
Here is a Table showing changes to generation out to 2023. Continue reading South Australianisation of NSW electricity

Labor split over emissions target

There was important news two days ago on 9Oct19 from the Hon Joel Fitzgibbon MP, Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Resources, Member for Hunter, New South Wales, a coal mining electorate. In a speech to the Sydney Institute Joel suggested Labor should adopt a carbon emission target for 2030 of a 28% reduction, the top of the Coalition 26-28% range. So in effect there would be “bi-partisanship” around Australia’s 2030 emission target which would make it harder for the Govt to attack Labor on that issue.
Usually in Labor politics these issued are resolved quietly in “smoke filled rooms” away from public ken.
I have not seen any sign that Labor will adopt Joel’s idea – however Parliament sits next week so it will be interesting to see what happens. Govt could attack Labor on the “split” at question time using Dorothy Dixers.
Hunter voting – large chart – easy to see what bugged Joel with PHON votes rocketing to 21.6%. Mr Stuart Bonds the One Nation candidate. 2PP chart.

NE NSW fires – were large aircraft working last night?

Grafton radar showed 2 large smoke plumes 4.53pm 8Oct so blind freddy could see these were large events.

The Grafton and Marburg radars are mainly clear now.
This morning ABC news say 30 houses have gone at Ewingar and Rappville.
I have advocated for years that our large air tankers should be incorporated into the RAAF and managed independently of State bureaucracies. The Tathra fires showed how union rivalries affected fire fighting which is an utter disgrace that I have not seen followed up. My main concern is that people are going to die due to poor management of the large air tankers.

Basslink out till October

Basslink failed last Saturday 24 Aug19 at 11am – was said to be back online yesterday 27Aug19
now news is “Basslink out until October”.
Our NEM has been wrecked for decades by incompetent politicians –
Our NEM is being run by renewables zealots –
Our NEM will be wrecked for years to come by our incompetent politicians.
AEMO prices whatever you can find.
With Basslink out Tassie Hydro income is down and they will not like that.
Updated chart(large version) added 2Sep19 just to see where we are generally on the NEM with Govt trying to talk down prices.
Chart was last reported 2Feb19
[1] Absolutely clear that for years Vic prices were relatively cheap prior to Hazelwood closing and after that they are in the top of the band.
[2] Also absolutely clear that for 2.5 years Qld prices have been relatively cheap and they enjoy the greatest percentage of coal fired gen.
[3] Also absolutely clear that since Port Augusta coal fired gen. closed over 3 years ago SA prices have seen severe price spikes every summer (and at times blackouts).
[4] It should be clear to Govt that any premature closure of Liddell risks higher NSW prices.

Terry McCrann eviscerates renewables – again

ReNu’s solar fantasy crashes and burns
Terry McCrann, Business Columnist, 7:49PM August 2, 2019

Two years ago our — and also “their”, as in “their ABC’s” — Alan Kohler exhorted us to see the future in renewable energy. The poster child of that future nominated by Kohler was, as he put it, a “little company named ReNu Energy”. Continue reading Terry McCrann eviscerates renewables – again

The luckiest country

The force of our time – Chinese steel production.(make 10 year chart) Iron ore price.
In Australia one in ten of us votes Green, Govts. are steadily wrecking our electricity grid, there is a rich vein of anti-mining sentiment to be tapped, Nimbys also abound anywhere their idyll is disturbed, science is misused to oppose development yet income from Resources underpins the National prosperity we have come to expect.

Climate mania causes iron deficiency in population

Attacks on meat production due to climate worries plus veganism are already causing an increase in anaemia in our population. From New Zealand – you found a true vender, build your order and proceed with checkout. This dosage is given to those men who are good and healthy and can probably bear some side effects which it causes later on. So the online pharmacy no prescription needed viagra for cheap kinda of merchants are crucial these days! The truth is, several people are exploring several options to obtain budget friendly drugs selecting the generic ones instead of the higher priced branded ones. Being creative every time will increase more enjoyment and you would not get tired of sexual activities. target=”_blank”>More spent on low iron hospitalisations as meat intake declines.
Remember with our election tomorrow – our Election is for the least stupid Govt.

David Archibald for the Senate in WA

David is standing under the Fraser Anning Conservative National Party banner and is pro our vital resources industry, he is against the current policy hysteria re climate, he is pro our Defence spending being beefed up, he is pro improving our fuel security by increasing our fuels stocks, he advocates a coal to liquids CTL industry in Australia which will also increase our fuels security. My many blog articles re David’s writings.
IMHO for WA people he would be a great No 1 Senate vote and then specify your preferences carefully.
